August Concerts at the MACC

The Maui Arts and Cultural Center (MACC) is having a great concert line-up for the month of August!  Here’s a rundown of the concerts:

Earth Wind & Fire

Sunday, August 4, 7:00 PM

Earth Wind & Fire
Earth Wind & Fire will light up the night with their music, moves and magic! The line-up features Verdine White, Philip Bailey and Ralph Johnson, along with an arsenal of musicians on guitar, keyboards, percussion and horns. EWF is well known for their showmanship, so you know they will be delivering big fun with big stage presence and big hits: “Shining Star”,“Can’t Hide Love”,“Getaway”, “September”,“Boogie Wonderland”,“After the Love Is Gone”,“Let’s Groove” and their cover of the Beatles’ “Got to Get You Into My Life”. Gates open at 4 pm for pre-show festivities.

Rock-and-Roll Hall-of-Famers David Crosby and Graham Nash bring their legacy of timeless songwriting and sublime vocal harmonies to the MACC to perform a one night only concert in the Castle Theater as a benefit for “Ruth’s Ride.” (information link to Ruth’s Ride below) As a duo, these longtime creative partners bring out the best in each other: their distinct yet complementary styles deliver a seamless and inspiring musical whole. The rockers are legendary for their sublime vocal harmonies and their sound is one of the true touchstones of the rock ‘n’ roll era. This will be the biggest “Reggae In The Valley” in its nine-year history! UB40’s legendary voice Ali Campbell headlines Maui’s signature music festival. With over 70 million albums sold worldwide, music lovers from three generations will enjoy timeless hit songs such as Red Red Wine, Kingston Town, Can’t Help Falling In Love, Homely Girl and much much more. Also featuring: Fiji, Maoli, Mana’o Company, Jordan T., Josh Tatofi. The show opens with Kalisi, Leylani and Lia Live.

Lahaina 2nd Friday Town Parties

July is Health and Wellness Month – come join us tonight on Front Street in Lahaina for an amazing evening!

Campbell Park comes alive in celebration of Health & Wellness Month at Lahaina’s Second Friday Town Party. Join in fitness and health demonstrations with personal trainer Emily Shaw and other local fitness providers and sports clubs. And don’t miss a show from the Emerald City Trapeze Arts Maui at Campbell Park. Lahaina’s restaurants will also be serving up their healthiest dishes and the public can join in the health food eating contest sponsored by Bamboo Fresh. Contestants can sign up on the night of the event (first come first serve).


At 6 p.m., the cast of ‘Ulalena begins the night’s festivities with a street performance at the sea wall across from Hard Rock Café.

Campbell Park comes alive with local ono grinds, baked goods, and desserts from 5:30 to 9 p.m.

Lahaina Town Action Committee, in partnership with Lahaina restaurants, works together to sponsor several west side keiki non-profit groups. This assistance allows these groups to fundraise and the event supports our community. Non-profit groups rotate but include Waiola Church, Boys & Girls Club of Maui – Lahaina Club, Na Ki`a i O Waine`e, Hawaiian Civic Club and Soroptomist International of West Maui
