“Leoda’s Kitchen and Pie Shop” just opened in Olowalu! This is a really fun place to stop by on your way to the other side of the island, for a freshly baked personal size pie and a cup of Maui grown coffee, or to enjoy one of their amazing sandwiches. It’s also a great place to pick up a “to go” lunch as you head off to see the island for the day. Open daily from 10am-8pm (808)662-3600. (Same owners as Old Lahaina Luau/Feast at Lele/Star Noodle/Aloha Mixed Plate…) Right next door to Leoda’s is the Olowalu General Store and Olowalu Juice Stand. Enjoy!

Hawaiian Air has just announced its first direct flight from JFK to Honolulu! Flights begin in June of 2012. They are offering a $212 (one way) fare as part of their promotion.

There is a short window of opportunity (between now and 11/20/11) for travel dates between 6/4/12-6/30/12. Hawaiian Air was also named yesterday as the #1 most on-time airline in 2011.
