Ice Carving Competition in Lahaina, Maui!

Hi all – There was a great turnout today (11/14/10) at the Lahaina Cannery Mall’s annual ice carving competition. The ice carvers had 2 hours to complete their work.  It was actually a 2 day event.  I went on Saturday (11/13/10) and 4 different guys did an ice carving exhibition for the community.  Also a great turnout and the final ice carvings were amazing.  Darrin Ho competed in the competition on 11/14/10 – he has won this competition for so many years! It was a great family event.  Check out the post/photos on our Napili Point Resort Facebook Fan Page:

We have hundreds of incredible photos for you to view and enjoy! When you are staying at Napili Point Resort remember to check out the Lahaina Cannery Mall.

Hawaiian Monk Seal

The Hawaiian Monk Seals are endangered and only exist in the Hawaiian Archipelago. Federal law doesn’t allow the monk seals to be disturbed, fed or approached closer than 150 feet. Check out the photos on this wall dated 8-8-10 – when we were visited by 2 monk seals right in front of our resort!  SEE THE HAWAIIAN MONK SEAL PHOTOS AT THIS LINK:

The photos are on the wall post dated November 14, 2010 and while you’re there be sure and look at the Hawaiian Monk Seal photos dated August 8, 2010 – these monk seals were right out front of our resort on the rocks! They stayed there for hours.  Remember – you don’t need to have a Facebook account to view and enjoy our Fan Page.  It’s for public viewing!

Kapalua Hiking & Walking Trails

Have you heard about the Kapalua Hiking & Walking Trails? There are 100 miles of trails from the West Maui Mountains to the coastline available for walkers and hikers. Several of the trail heads are just minutes from our resort which guests at Napili Point Resort love.  One of the more popular is the Coastal Trail.  It is an easy trail and follows along the Napili and Kapalua coastline which can only be described as breathtaking.  From one of the vantage points along the trail you can see (north) for miles, all the way to Honolua Bay!  Along the way you will travel on a boardwalk that parallels Ironwood Beach.  (See “Coastal Trail and Upper West Side Beaches” Photo Albums on Napili Point Resort Facebook)
